Easy Homemade Brownie Bites Recipe

Brownie bites are small, bite-sized pieces of brownies. They typically have the same rich, fudgy texture as regular brownies, but they are cut into smaller portions for easy snacking. Often, they are made in mini muffin tins or baked as a large sheet and cut into squares or rounds.

Some versions may include added ingredients like chocolate chips, nuts, or swirls of caramel to enhance the flavor.  They're a popular treat for parties, gifts, or just a quick indulgence!. Brownie bites can also be made in a variety of flavors, depending on personal preference.

For example, some recipes include variations like adding peanut butter swirls, white chocolate chips, or even a touch of espresso to intensify the chocolate flavor. Others may incorporate toppings such as a dusting of powdered sugar, a drizzle of melted chocolate, or a sprinkle of sea salt to create a more gourmet version.

Additionally, brownie bites are often easy to customize to suit dietary preferences, such as being made gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegan. Their compact size makes them perfect for portion control, and they can be served at events like birthdays, picnics, or holiday gatherings as a delightful treat.

They are also great for meal prep or as a fun baking project, as the small portions cook quickly and allow for more creative variations. Whether you’re baking them for yourself or sharing them with friends, brownie bites provide the same indulgence and comfort as traditional brownies, but in a smaller, more manageable form.

Making brownie bites is simple and fun! Here's a basic recipe to help you bake your own:

Ingredients:

- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted

- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

- 2 large eggs

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder (optional, for fluffier bites)

- 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven

Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a mini muffin tin with butter or line it with paper liners.

2. Mix wet ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

3. Add dry ingredients

Sift together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder (if using). Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

4. Add chocolate chips

(optional): If you like extra chocolate, fold in the chocolate chips or any other mix-ins you desire (like nuts, dried fruit, or swirls of peanut butter).

5. Fill muffin tin

Spoon the brownie batter into the mini muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full. This should make about 12–15 brownie bites depending on the size of your muffin tin.

6. Bake

Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a brownie bite comes out with just a few moist crumbs (not wet batter). Be careful not to overbake; they should remain fudgy and moist inside.

7. Cool

Let the brownie bites cool in the pan for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Optional Toppings

- Dust with powdered sugar for a simple touch of sweetness.

- Drizzle with melted chocolate or caramel for an extra indulgent finish.

- Top with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream to make them even more decadent.

Variations:

- Vegan

Replace the eggs with flax eggs (1 tbsp ground flax + 2.5 tbsp water per egg) and use non-dairy butter.

- Gluten-free

Substitute the flour with a gluten-free all-purpose flour blend.

- Add-ins

Add chopped nuts, toffee bits, or peanut butter swirls for more texture and flavor.

Brownie bites are incredibly versatile and can be adapted to suit your taste. Enjoy!
